Gavin's Birthday party.

Gavin had a great birthday party. He had a few friends come, and everyone seemed to have a good time.  He got loads and loads of Transformer toys from all his friends. Where am I going to put all these toys????? For now, I guess the middle of the floor is as good a place as any.  The kids played a couple games. They threw bean bags and the evil decepticon Megatron. Then, the pinned the emblem on Optimus Prime.  Heather made the cake this time as I have sworn off cake decorating since last years debacle. Too stressful. Although, it was very tempting to get back into it. I decided to keep away.
Ethan had an awesome time too. In the past, anytime we have had people over to the house, he seeks comfort and solitude in his room. Many times he hid under his covers.  I am pleased to say that Ethan was very social.  He was happy to see Aunt Megan. He even sought out the attention of Uncle Adam who he hadn’t seen in over a year.  He was so happy to have people at our house.  At the end of the party, he cried as people were leaving. He was sad that the party was over and everyone had to go home.  This was the first time that Heather and I became happy as a result of Ethan’s sadness.  It’s such a good sign and gives us hope for the future.
Gavin did miss a couple friends who could not make it due to illness, but he was pleasantly surprised by his friend Joseph. They had loads of fun together, and Joseph helped us wrangle up all the kids for game time and cake.  We want to thank everyone who came and helped Gavin have a special birthday.
